Marlon Aguilar is a Spanish author and mechanical engineer whose professional work on international oil and gas projects took him to parts of Russia that few foreigners ever reach.
He is neither a journalist nor a professional travel writer. He came to know Russia from the inside — through work, friendship, daily life, the language, and more than a decade of lived experience in the country.
Over the years, Marlon has lived and worked in Khabarovsk, Volgograd, Moscow, and on the Gydan Peninsula, while travelling extensively across Russia. His work brought him to places most visitors never see.
His curiosity opened doors. His openness opened hearts. Russia surprised him. Its people inspired him. And, in time, it changed his life.
Today, he lives in Russia with his family.
